Local Outreach International Outreach
The opening paragraph for the goals and guidelines of our mission statement reads:
Wellington Church exists because of the work of God’s marvelous grace in each of our hearts; therefore, we seek to fulfill the purpose for our calling by faithfully pursuing all He has commanded. This is our motivation for taking seriously the commission of Christ to: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all things I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt. 28:19-20
Lexington Rescue Mission
Lexington Rescue Mission exists to serve and glorify God through Christ-centered service that meets the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the poor and homeless in Lexington.
Angel Tree Ministry
Each year during November and December Wellington Church ministers to families of Harrison Elementary School through providing gifts which include basic physical needs as well as toys for kids.
Amachi Ministry
People of Faith Mentoring Children of Promise
Amachi is a Nigerian word of promise that means "Who knows what God has brought us through this child." Through no fault of their own an alarming number of children have parents, relatives or friends incarcerated each year. The children affected by incarceration are left vulnerable adn at risk of not living up to ehir highest potential.
Amachi is designed to address the needs of children, 4-18, and alter the potential negative direction of these children's lives. Amachi seeks to provide mentors that can offer support, counsel, and friendship and help them to achieve their highest potential. You can make a dramatic difference in the life of a child by committing to spend one hour a week with a child for a year.
Every year since January 2006 Wellington has been sending their pastor, Wayne Holcomb, to Aurangabad, India to provide biblical training for Indian pastors in the state of Maharashtra. These pastors have a Bible College education, but cannot further their training at the seminary in Pune because they do not have a strong command of the English language.
Our pastor, through the use of a translator, teaches advanced Bible Survey courses, as well as in-depth studies of individual books of the Bible, and other general courses that are necessary for fully understanding the foundations of the Christian faith. These pastors appreciate this support in a culture that is primarily Hindu, Buddhist, and Muslim. Some of the pastors travel as many as 18 hours to attend the conference each year.
The ministry in Aurangabad also has a school for 650 children and two orphanages, one for boys and one for girls. Wellington has assisted in building the new facility for the girl's orphanage and is currently supporting the orphanage for the boys through the church's adoption program. Nearly fifty families within the Wellington ministry financially support "their" orphan through providing food, clothing, education, and training in the scriptures each month.
Wellington has also, through the efforts of one of its members Suzanne Stewart, conducted a clothing drive to provide pants, shirts, dresses, and shoes for the growing number of orphans.

Siguatepeque, Honduras
Wellington also sends mission teams to Siguatepeque, Honduras each year to work in cooperation with the MEDA ministry, which is part of the Master's Academy International outreach that seeks to prepare native pastors around the world to proclaim the good news of God's redemptive work through expository preaching.
Wellington has teamed with The Master’s Academy International (TMAI) in an attempt to fulfill the great commission throughout the world. By clicking on the link you will find an overview of TMAI, their purpose and method, and the featured institute (MEDA) located in Siguatepeque, Honduras.
The purpose of Wellington's mission teams is to assist local pastors in the teaching of God’s word through VBS outreaches, children programs, and render professional service in the medical clinic.
Wellington’s goal is to teach the truth of God’s word through sound doctrine and Christian love as we fulfill the great commission by making disciples at home and around the world.
