The Role of Music in Worship
Music is a gift from God and plays an instrumental role in our worship of Him. We are not bound by style or preference, but rather by right doctrine. The music needs to be sing-able so that the congregation can come together in one voice, unified in true corporate worship. It has been said that true Christian music should be the congregation’s take-home theology. Music paired with doctrine is a powerful tool for our memories and cannot be taken lightly. The selection of our music involves much prayer and evaluation. It is a careful process intent on choosing each song with a purpose; that purpose being a true reflection of who God is and what He has accomplished on our behalf.

Get Involved
There are many opportunities to connect and grow musically and spiritually. Each participant should be in agreement with our beliefs and understanding of Scripture, have complete trust in Christ for their salvation and a desire to use their talents to the glory of God. Several brief descriptions have been provided for your review.

Worship Choir
The Worship choir is a group of people who enjoy singing with the primary purpose of glorifying God through music.
If you would like to participate, we invite you to visit a rehearsal Sundays, 4:45 - 6:00 p.m. at Wellington’s Family Life Center. The choir is a great place to serve, connect and glorify God.

Instrumental
We are always searching for those gifted by God with a heart of worship to participate in our music ministry as an instrumentalist. If you play an instrument and are interested in becoming involved, please contact Kevin Cooper to arrange an audition time.

Vocal Teams
The vocal teams are an extension of the worship choir. There are as many as three separate vocal teams functioning on a rotational basis with each team leading 1-2 times per month. This ministry requires a one-year commitment and will begin each August. Audition dates will be announced the first of August.
