Inspiration

Question: “I heard an artist on the radio the other day say he was inspired by God to write a song. Is there a difference between his song being inspired and God’s Word being inspired?”

"A Christian's Response to the Homosexual's Attempt to Reinterpret Scripture"

My question has to do with the frequent argument made by the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender) community that there are parts of the Bible that no longer apply to modern society. For instance, GLBT apologists often cite texts regarding the stoning of disobedient children and the Levitical laws forbidding the consumption of shellfish or wearing clothing made of two kinds of material. These and other Old Testament passages, including the forbidding of homosexual relations (so they contend) are proof that the Bible, particularly the Old Testament, is for an ancient people and not applicable today.

The Mystery of the Incarnation

Many truths revealed in Scripture man cannot resolve due to the finite capacity of his understanding. To some the idea of atonement is beyond human comprehension. To others, the virgin birth is too much of a biological anomaly for them to fathom. And many struggle with the miracles of Christ as He walked on water, fed thousands with a hand full of food, healed every known disease of His day, and raised many from the dead. Many who claim to be Christian cannot comprehend the Person or work of an infinite, omniscient, omnipotent, and sovereign God, so they reduce Him to a god of their own making, one they can better understand and control.

Covenant Eyes: The Battle for Sexual Purity

In a society so infiltrated with sexual immorality where God's creation of sex has been perverted, Christian families have never faced such a threat to purity and our children's innocence. How can my family avoid the pitfalls so prevalent in our society?
How can I stay pure in an impure culture? Where can I turn for help in my struggle with pornography? What resources are available to protect and offer accountability?

The Purpose of the Law

Question: The OT includes a lot of commands the Lord gave to the Jewish people such as not eating certain meats, washing your clothes after touching something dead and allowing the land to rest the seventh year. Should Christians still obey all these laws? What exactly was the purpose for these laws and what role does OT law play in the life of the Christian?

Christ's Atoning Work

Question: I’m from a Seventh Day Adventist background and I’ve always been taught that Christ had a fallen, human nature that was almost degenerate. Ellen G. White, our church’s prophetess, emphasized Christ as our Example more so than our Savior. She writes, “His example declares that our only hope of eternal life is through bringing our appetites and passions into subjection to the will of God" (The Desire of Ages, p. 122). She contended that Christ had a sinful nature yet lived without sinning; therefore, we must to do the same. Does man have a sinful nature? Was Christ fully human? If so, did He have a sinful nature? Does man have to reach perfection to be saved? If so, what is Christ’s role in man’s salvation?

What does it mean to work out your salvation?

After reading Philippians 2:12, I looked up the Greek word for “work” in my Vine’s Dictionary and found katergazomai: which means “to achieve, work out, effect by toil.” I know our salvation comes through Christ’s atoning death on our behalf, but this verse seems to indicate we should “work out” or “accomplish” our salvation through personal effort. How is this verse reconciled with the rest of scripture?

How Did We Get The Bible?

How did we get the Bible and what is the canon?
The Bible contains sixty-six books recorded over a period of 1,500 years, but how did they come to be recognized as holy and inspired scripture? It is important to note the church did not create the canon but simply recognized and acknowledged the books that proved to be unquestionably accurate and undeniably inspired. According to
