Christianity 301: “Principles of Christian Stewardship”

If you were leaving instructions for your children as to how to live, would you include arduous lessons to create hardship and discomfort, or directions and guidelines that would provide safeguards and benefits?  This study presents a refreshing look at guidelines the Lord has provided for the good of His people in Scripture.  If you wrestle with juggling your time and finances, this course will provide a new and exciting outlook for your life as you learn how to incorporate Principles of Christian Stewardship.  Even if you already follow Biblical principles of stewardship, you will gain a new understanding of God’s word that will increase your joy and expand your Christian witness.  This course uses Barry Cameron’s “The ABC’s of Financial Success” ($9.00) and Randy Alcorn’s “The Treasure Principle” ($7.00) as supplemental texts.

Christianity 302: “Understanding Worship”

What is worship? How should I worship? Why do we worship? What role does music have in worship? Should we sing hymns or choruses? What is most acceptable to God? How does He evaluate our worship? This new course will answer many of the questions you have about worship and the role of music within the church. You will gain a biblical understanding regarding the history of music and what is  acceptable in the worship of our Lord, for He is seeking worshipers who will “worship Him in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). Your Bible will be the only text necessary. The supplemental text is John MacArthur’s book “The Ultimate Priority”.

Christianity 303a: “How To Study The Bible”

This is a practical course on the observation, interpretation and application of Scripture. People have many excuses why they don’t study or even read their Bibles, but perhaps the true reason is they have never been taught how. This course offers several approaches and methods as well as training in the knowledge God’s word.

Christianity 303b: "Praying Biblically"

“One of the foundational steps in knowing God, and one of the basic demonstrations that we do know God, is prayer—spiritual, persistent, biblically minded prayer” (D. A. Carson). How well do we know God? J.I. Packer writes “I believe that prayer is the measure of the man, spiritually, in a way that nothing else is, so that how we pray is as important a question as we can ever face”. This study will focus on the apostle Paul and his prayers. We will work through several of Paul’s prayers in such a way that we hear God speak to us today, and to find strength and direction to improve our praying, both for God’s glory and for our good. This course will seek to answer the how to’s of praying by following Paul’s example in his letters to the New Testament churches. The text for this course is D.A. Carson’s “A Call to Spiritual Reformation” and Paul’s New Testament letters.

Christianity 304: “Forgiveness”

Almost no concept is more foundational to Christianity or more important to our personal and spiritual well-being than having the ability to forgive.  This course thoroughly examines God’s Word to answer the questions that most people ask about the possibility, the power, the necessity, the freedom, and the meaning of forgiveness.  This course will refresh your soul and renew your relationship with God and others.  The supplemental text is John MacArthur’s book ‘Forgiveness.’
